Beautiful gesture

I want to thank Kim, from Desire to Inspire, who was so kind to send me these magazines all the way from Canada. Kim's and Jo's blog was indeed inspiration for me to start mine. So the magazines are not the only ones I am thankful for.

There is also a funny story behind the magazines. The Canadian postal services indicated on the package also the weight of the content, 1.500 kg. The address on the envelope was the one of the company I work for. When the package arrived at the custom office in Bucharest, the Romanian custom people called my company and communicated that there is a package of 1,5 tones waiting to be picked up :). The dot instead of a comma, confused them apparently, so my colleague from logistics department went to the custom with a... TRUCK, not knowing what the package is or who the recipient was. Surprise! The picked up a 1,5 kg package with a truck. It was a short embarrassing moment when my colleague delivered the package and told me the story, but then, in a very short time it circulated through the company and my magazines became the object of amusement of 100 people. :)

Merry Christmas! Craciun Fericit! Frohe Weihnachten!

I've decided this year to skip the conventional Christmas tree. I will mention only one reason: I heard recently someone saying that we would never cut a tree again, if we could hear the crying of a cut Christmas Tree. The words echoed in my head, so no regrets. :)
No regrets, especially when there are so many other beautiful, creative and fun options to create a Christmas tree and the Christmas flavor in the house. Above, only some great examples.
I chose to shape a Christmas Tree out of tiny stickers on a glass door in my house. It looks realy nice.

The last tree is the work of a Romanian fashion designer, Venera Arapu. She auctioned it at the Christmas Tree Ball in 2008. It's an annual charity event, to the benefit of the "Salvati Copii" foundation. Her tree is so perfect, that it's hard to believe it's real. No need to add that I'm in love with it.

Anyway, this being said, I wish you all a beautiful, quite Christmas, together with all the people you love. Take care of you, and use the opportunity of the Christmas days to think about you and your soul. As far as I am concerned, along the year, I don't have always time for this, so I can't wait for the Christmas.

Just one more

Please tell me that I am not the only person who likes small places. If such spaces are also decorated in a clever and creative way, than I cannot help it. Really! I sometimes wonder what I would choose If someone (Santa, for instance:)) would offer two options: large, open, 200 sqm loft or small, narrow, strange shaped apartment. Hmmm.

Small spaces day

Hello boys and girls! Tough times! I don't want to go into details, but has anybody the cure for before-x-mas-stress? Everyone acts, like it's not only the end of a year, but the end of the world, and everything seems vital-important. I guess it's the wish to have the feeling during the holidays that things are put away and nothing can come up, but I think somewhere there, is an overreaction. Whatever. I am not different, and one of the effects was the lack of posting. :( I'm sorry.

But I discovered lately this tiny little French apartment designed by Agathe Peroy. Can you believe this tiny little apartment used to be ... 2 much more little apartments? Well, Agatha broke walls and ceilings down and created to areas, a day and a night area, using a mix of industrial (concrete floor), romantic (bathtub), vintage (50's bleu chair), exotic (african rug on the kitchen floor), designer (lamps in the kitchen), rustic (farmhouse table) stuff, and it turned into an beautiful eclectic home. The banana cartons are the absolute hit. So that's a person who's not afraid of anything, I would say! And that's not ok. It's perfect!!!
